Welcome to Young’s Skating Center. We hope everyone has a good time skating with us here today. Now, for your safety, as well as for your recreation, we do have some rules and regulation to which we would appreciate everybody paying attention for just a few minutes:
- First of all, if you’re wearing a hat today, please take your hat off before coming onto the skating surface. That hat could fall off your head and land in the path of someone skating behind you.
- Moms and Dads, big people out there on skates: Please do not pick up anybody. Putting wheels on your feet make you inherently unstable. Picking somebody up while you are on skates is extremely dangerous. You are going to get hurt, the person you’re carrying will get hurt and someone around you may get hurt as well. So, once again, if you’re on wheels, please DON’T pick anyone up.
- Please refrain from using any electronic devices while skating, like, cell phones, iPods, and the like. Please be attentive to your surroundings at all times.
- We ask that while you’re on the main skating surface that you please keep moving. Do NOT stand at, sit on, nor climb over any of the walls in the building.
- Please do not come onto the floor with street shoes. Roller skates only on the main skating surface.
- Please skate forward at all times. Skate backward only during designated backward skating specials.
- We ask that you please skate slowly and carefully at all times. You can tell if you’re skating too fast if you are passing more people than are passing you.
- Smoking is prohibited. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building.
- The same thing is true about chewing gum. Chewing gum is not permitted in the building. If you are chewing gum, please throw it away into one of the trash cans located throughout the facility.
- Please keep all food and drink at a table. Once again, please keep all food and drinks at a table, either in the snack bar or at your tables in the party area.
- We strongly urge that you lock your personal belongings in a locker, located along the concourse. Young’s Skating Center is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property.
- All the coin-operated machines in the building are the property of an outside amusement company. They do not belong to Young’s therefore we cannot offer refunds for any money that might be lost in any coin-operated machine.
- Now, does everybody see that thick black line painted all the way around the floor out there? The area inside that black traffic line is for beginners and practice skaters ONLY. Everyone else please skate all the way around, use the entire length of the floor. Please do not skate across those lines because that’s where our beginner and practice skaters will be.
- Please take a look around the building to find out where the exits signs are located. In case of an emergency, it’s good to know there are other exit doors other than those where you came in.
- Everybody in the building must wear skates, except for adults. Once again, everybody, except adults, must wear skates. If you need a pair of skates, please come to the music center and we’ll be glad to set you up with a pair.
